Speech Sound cue cards are picture cues that represent the phonemes in Standard British English using environmental images and sounds that children can relate to, teaching them new ‘sounds’ and not ‘letters’.
The back of each card supports the teacher/therapist and shows
- The target sound
- The sound cue name
- The target sound in a word
- The IPA symbol
- A brief description of how the sound is produced
Speech sound picture cues can be used in early years settings, the classroom, in play based therapy and more formal therapy. They can support children with phonological and articulation difficulties, dyslexia, and verbal dyspraxia. And help develop early speech acquisition and phonological awareness.
45 cards in total – 17 vowels and diphthongs, and 28 consonants and frequently used consonant clusters.
Cards dimensions 8.5cm x 8.5cm. Printed on 700gsm card with a non-glare, matt lamination.
