About Me

Carrie Hughes, BA(Hons), MSc, Cert MRCSLT, MASLTIP, HCPC Registered

I qualified from the University of Essex with a Masters degree in Speech & Language Therapy. In 2014 I set up my independent practice, Carrie Hughes Speech and Language Therapy.

I work with clients with a range of needs, but I am particularly interested in my work with children with speech sound disorders, dysfluent speech, social communication needs and Developmental Language Disorders. I have lectured in the latter at the University of Essex, and I enthusiastically follow developments in research in order to keep therapy current and relevant.

Delivering therapy in mainstream schools and Language Units has allowed me to build experience in helping children who struggle with expressive and receptive language, articulation, memory, and attention and listening. Alongside this, my work in Special Needs Schools has developed my ability to help children living with learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder and challenging behaviours. As well as working with children, I also offer therapy to adolescents and adults with a wide range of language and communication difficulties.

I also make my resources available to other Speech and Language Therapists. Click here to view and download printable Speech and Language games, activities, and much more.

How we work with…

About our resources

Carrie Hughes Speech and Language Therapy Resources are designed for SLTs, staff, and families working to support children with speech, language and communication needs. They target a variety of areas, including – but not limited to – speech sounds, language understanding, expressive language and social communication skills.

We liaise with industry experts when creating resources. This ensures that our resources are evidence-based and follow the specific requirements of a given therapy programme.

It is important to us that our products are affordable. We endeavour to continue producing cost-effective, accessible resources to help families, staff, and therapists reach their therapy targets without breaking the bank.

We work closely with a local illustrator, creating bespoke products to target speech, language and communication. We also welcome ideas and requests from therapists for further resources.

Increasingly, we are working with a number of NHS trusts and independent SLT companies. We supply teams with a range of resources to cover their clients’ needs. For further information about Multiple User Licences, please contact us via the enquiry form and we will contact you.
