BRING THE FRUIT: ESSAYS FOR THE RELAXED MIND

The political essays: BRING THE FRUIT:, are about my experiences within the Puerto Rican gang turned political, the Young Lords Party. However, I shared some moments with the Black Panther Party, SNCC, the Weatherman, SCLC and SDS (Students for a Democratic Society). The stories include violence to the extreme, at times, and pain, sorrow, stupidity, love and, of course, a little humor. “ESSAYS FOR THE RELAXED MIND” written more than 45 years, ago. I kept them, not knowing what I would do with them. They were (are) a compendium of ten fictional works and seven non-fictional political pieces. Actually, I was unsure of the reaction I would receive from some of the people I mentioned, although I gave them aliases. Many of those people, who I mentioned, were still carrying guns, when last we met; others, who were still alive or in prison, and still others became doctors, lawyers and college professors. Read more
